My name is Kalle Kormann - a creative; interested in developing digital communication and information systems, researching digital visualisation possibilities for digital environments, network structures, and I am investigating ways to mesh up information/data from the web to get more meaning out of it. www.keikei.de is my platform to show my work, share collected information, research, and examples. | |
General Overview
After finishing high-school in 1998 I decided to work in a hospital doing a social service year instead going to the army. In 1999 I started to study “Computer Science” with focus on digital media, but very soon I had to follow my affinity to create and discover the visual possibilities of digital media. So I changed my studies in 2000 to the BA course “Digital Media Design” at the University of Arts Bremen, Germany were I had the possibility to learn design in combination with technology. My main focus was to develop user interfaces, future concepts, and computer generated visuals. During this I studied one semester at the University of Arts Utrecht in the Netherlands. Besides my studies I started to work as a freelancer for different clients. Through this I had the chance to develop different projects from video productions over conference presentations to websites.
In 2002 I started an internship at Haase & Knels + Schweers, after this I got a placement. During that time I had the chance to work and develop print campaigns, events, commercials, and digital applications. 2004 I decided to go back to university to make a Master Degree in “Networked Media Environments” at the Ravensbourne College for Communications and Design London, UK. During the studies I developed my technical skills and researched the possibilities of gathering and visualising data from the internet. My master thesis is about visualising the position and interests of a person in a digital social environment.
As a freelancer I worked for different clients like: interone Hamburg an Agency of BBDO Worldwide, I-D Media, SelectNY Berlin and besides that I develop private projects and research in the fields of data visualisation.
Now, I am holding a position as Senior User Experience Designer at Adobe.

Social
All persons who worked with me are saying that I am a team player, kind, always concentrated, never nervous, and straight thinking person. I like to help where I can and I would never leave someone of my team alone.
Process
I am following a human centered design process: 3D - Discover, Define, Deliver. This process sets the people into the center and all thinking needs to enable them to solve their painpoints, habbits and requirements. Each stage has its own tools to define the right settings and find the right answers to find and solve a problems.
In a nutshell what the stages are about:
Discover - gathering all needed information and requirements from the business and the users through interviews, shadowing, observations and round-tables to understand the problem which needs to get solved. All findings end up in a report explaining my understanding of the problem, the requirements of the business and the users.
Define - here all findings brought together and the solution gets defined in all its details and faccets.
Deliver - development of the solution.
